U.S. Representative John B. Larson

John Larson has been representing Connecticut's 1st District
in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1999. Prior to his
move to the Federal level, Larson served in the Connecticut
General Assembly for 12 years, representing East Hartford's 3rd
District in the Senate and became the longest serving President
Pro Tempore. In 1994, Larson left local politics and sought the
Democratic nomination for Governor of Connecticut.
As a member of Congress, Representative Larson serves on the
House Ways and Means Committee, devoted to issues of taxation
and revenue. Along with serving on the most powerful legislative
committee, Larson serves as Vice Chair of the House Democratic
Caucus. Elected by his colleagues to this position in 2006,
Larson is ranked as the fifth highest ranking Democrat in the
House of Representatives.
